Southern Iowa BioEnergy Kick-off Success

Lamoni, Iowa Southern Iowa BioEnergy, LLC held a successful kick-off event on June 21, 2006, beginning their equity drive to build a 30 million gallon per year biodiesel plant, expected to be located near Lamoni.
Southern Iowa BioEnergy (SIBE) Board Chairman Bill Higdon introduced the project to more than 400 guests at the event held on the campus on Graceland University. “We are thrilled with the reception our project received,” Higdon stated. “Not only did we have hundreds of potential investors attend, we were also honored to have the support of State Senator Jeff Angelo, State Representative Mike Reasoner, Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Managing Director Lucy Norton, and Iowa Soybean Association Board Member Cliff Mulder.”
Following the kick-off ceremony and lunch provided by SIBE, the first investor information meeting was held at the same location. On Wednesday evening, the presentation was given to another group at 7:00 pm. SIBE raised nearly $2 million on the first day of their equity drive, moving them toward their fundraising goal of just over $30 million.
“We have a full schedule of investor information meetings planned,” Higdon commented. “We will be addressing potential investors in the states where our registration is effective: Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, and Alaska.”
SIBE plans to use vegetable oils, primarily soybean oil, and animal fats to manufacture biodiesel which meets ASTM D 6751 quality standards required by major engine manufacturers. The plant will be BQ-9000 certified.

Lamoni, Iowa - Bill Higdon, chairman of the Southern Iowa BioEnergy, LLC board of directors, said the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has declared its registration statement effective as of June 9, 2006. SIBE may begin its equity drive to raise funds to build a 30-million gallon continuous flow biodiesel plant anticipated to be near Lamoni, Iowa. The public announcement and launch of their equity drive will take place on June 21.
Southern Iowa BioEnergy's (SIBE) board of directors invites the public to join them for their kick-off announcement at 11:00 am on June 21 at Graceland University in Lamoni. Details on the SIBE project and biodiesel will be shared at the announcement with the first investor information meeting scheduled to follow.
SIBE is open to investors from Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, and Alaska. "Our project differs from others because we are open to investors from multiple states," commented Higdon.
